So, my game isn't playable. My RAM is the biggest issue, when I get into the game, my diagnostics are already saying there is no more free RAM Space. I have 2gb, but 600mb are used just be logging onto my computer before I get into the game. I was considering putting in an additional 4gb.
However, is my CPU enough? It doesn't hit 100%, but it looks to hit about high 80's. I have an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+ (2.6ghz). I'd hate to buy more RAM but find out my CPU wouldn't be able to run it. I'm just worried about playing, not about playing at any above-minimum graphics standard. Thanks! |

More RAM is always useful. 4GB total is a good amount to have, might be all you need.
Also as far as I can tell intel CPU's are getting the best out of the game, I have heard instances of dual cores running the game fine while quad cores just can't. Get another 2GB RAM, might help. If it doesn't, well it's another 2GB of RAM that may help you play other PC games if you wish. |

You shouldn't even try to run a modern windows PC without at least 4Gb IMO.
PS2 Devs have stated that their game will try to use 8Gb if its available, but no more than that. I'm going from 4 to 8, when it turns up... but 4 is playable, and I'm on a Quad core AMD 3.4 Ghz. Previously I was on a dual core AMD 2.7 and it wasn't playable... but there was a patch in between me upgrading the CPU that might have had some performance stuff too. |

Note that if you're running a 32-bit version of Windows, adding more than 4 GB of memory is pointless as that's all it'll be able to use. You'll need a 64-bit version in order for memory greater than 4 GB to be usable by the OS.

I recommend you maybe get this CPU + Motherboard for $225 and also that the same time upgrade your RAM to 8 GB PS: Don't forget, you might need to upgrade your cooling system too. Last edited by Sunrock; 2012-09-09 at 04:32 PM. |

Or just wait for release and look how much power is needed. Im running PS2 on a Dual Core and it's getting better and better with every patch. So I really would not recommend upgrading before the game is close to release. And also the same harder will most likely even be a bit cheaper then.
