or Esamir might be coming out within the next few days, and they needed some way to get alot of people in, and this seemed like a good way to do it, and meanwhile make the people who gave them money feel like it was a better investment than originally (where some complained) =)
Doesn't matter why they did it though, it is still awesome, and I thank you many times =) Last edited by Falrond; 2012-09-12 at 01:35 PM. |

What's interesting is that from a marketing perspective, it can hurt sales, as every Alpha Squad gets 2 into Beta (who may not be in). So it could mean selling less packs to those who need access, but it does increase the appeal of the package. I just hope that it is very clear to those who buy the Alpha Squad package that they will be flagged for Beta and they don't waste their key on themselves.

Actually, from a marketing perspective it makes sense. Atleast somewhat
First they spread the initial product, and after waiting some time (they could probably have waited longer). Then they will spread through those who already bought the product and have them recommend the game to others. Statistically speaking the people they spread it to, may very well have the money to buy the package for themselves, and they have some good commercial value in the people who already bought the package and who is now spreading their product and expanding the market base. They bought it, so they must be able to recommend it, and will probably mention how they got the code, aka more product exposure. So basically they spread the product to a wider market base, who in average will have some money to spend. (since they associate with other people who also have money enough to buy the product) Giving a higher ROI compared to their average consumer =) Well, I could keep going into details for 10 pages, but I will stop here =) Last edited by Falrond; 2012-09-12 at 02:39 PM. |
