I'd really prefer the Lattice system to the hex system in its current state. Right now, there is no obvious path to take, resulting in 100 tiny battles all along the edge of your territory instead of massive scale battles that the lattice system provides. If Esamir fixes the problem, then build off of what you did right there... if the problem persists, don't keep putting make up on the hex system, go back to the tried and true Lattice method that already works.

Basically if you want to keep the Hex system but have the same feel of the Lattice System, make Hexes much much bigger.
What that provides is certain bases along your front lines that need to be taken to keep moving forward. This concentrates the fighting into more focused areas with less of the several smaller fights along much larger fronts. I could explain what I mean by a picture but I think you all get it. |

I agree with making Hexes a bit larger, or try out the lattice system in PS2 to see how well it'd work. I loved the idea of "No mans land" between the SoI's in PS1. I don't feel the same sense of ownership I did from the lattice system from the Hex/inf system, but as it is beta, it will continue to improve and grow I'm sure.
Glad to see the resource changes, will make it much more intuitive.

I wonder how the ressource change will affect the lightning tank. Most of the time I only used it because it allowed me to have a tank while I was waiting to get enough heavy vehicle resources. But now that it directly competes with heavy tanks I don't think I'll ever use one even if it's 30% cheaper.

I'm curious about your thoughts on cont locking. Do you want that? Why or why not? If you do, how do you imagine cont locking happening if there isn't a lattice network with warp gates and don't connect to each other? There's probably a way to get it to work with the hexes (perhaps a hybrid hex-lattice system?).
