The fact is that picture in the launcher is several months old. And after that one picture, we haven't seen the MCG a single time again.

Then, we have that new picture Canaris posted.

My bet is that the one in the launcher has been cut out of the game and replaced by the new one.

By the way, I completly understand what beta means, thank you.
But as I pointed out, not everything we don't like can or will be changed. Beta or not.
I guess we can assume that all the other HA weapons were cut by this logic.

There are multiple variations of the HA weapons in PS2, this thing we saw in the video is not the MCG, but likely the "Behemoth", the lightweight variant. The MCG is still even being used as the placeholder icon for the TR chain gun section of the store. There is absolutely nothing to indicate that this thing in the video replaced the PS1 MCG design. Just because we didn't see the MCG in that short overview, that didn't even include any of the other faction's HA weapons, doesn't mean it was cut.

Shesh, after seeing this I'm starting to worry about the JH and the Lasher assuming that is the MCG now.

About a month ago I went on to each faction and checked in the store to see what each Heavy Assault weapon looked like and to my surprise they had both the MCG and the Lasher modeled through the preview button. Both were underslung with the lasher looking very different from PS1. At that same time there was neither a preview model or image for the Jackhammer.

If you go into the game right now for each faction, you can preview the MCG and Jackhammer models. The MCG is the model from the Command Center, and the Jackhammer looks to be a single barrel shotgun with a massive gauge. There is no preview model for the lasher, it is a temp I believe of another weapon that is already in the game.

The Jackhammer and lasher could fit in this formula fine i think.

only ther MCG was ever really a huge cumbersome gun.

If you look at the Lasher in the shop atm its the same model as the HA gun, so im sure these are only temp....besides they might go back if enough people are against it.

it would be a crime if they changed the mcg to..that.

still i could understand why, they could have another daft gun with generic iron sights and keep the devs happy.

I can understand dumbing down the game in other ways for one reason or another, but this just... ugh, makes me annoyed.

80s Action fires from the hip and so should the MCG:

^like this devs^

The lasher and sweeper fit into the shoulder formula , the original ps1 animations were like that.

The JH and MCG are a different animal altogether animation wise I think.

That is horrible, I joined TR purely because of how cool their HA weapon would be and if that is it then..........

I don't think I would have a problem if the Heavy held it up like THAT, right on your shoulder

But at the moment he's holding it up against his shoulder like a regular rifle

big nono.

If this wasn't the MCG, why hasn't a single dev responded to the outburst yet?
