Persenoal shield strengthened defense position (trench)

The context of original thought is presented here:
http://www.planetside-universe.com/s...534#post841534
In point 3.

Basically it's an idea that "infantry can gain big advantage when they fight at a well-prepared position, which needs considerable resources and time to be built by engineers, and can be destroyed by bombardment from bomber/artillery".

Trenches is a natural thinking about this idea, when prepare, you just dig in, then you have cover in defense, the better you prepared, the better you are covered. In offensive, you fire explosive shells to destroy those trenches, thus you have some counter measure about the defense (in reality there is a Nash balance about digging in, preparation fire, assault between defense and offense).

But technically I think it's too expensive to implement terrain change and simulate it real time (I hope I'm wrong ...). So here I got an idea:

----------- Design: Persenoal shield strengthened defense position ---------

Infantries can have personal shields, though they are not too powerful, but small collision size makes them hard to be hit (compared with large size vehicles), this is the way infantry survive in battle field.

The reason that infantry shield is not so powerful is the limitation of energy supply, the mobile battery is highly effective in an energy/weight ratio. How ever even heavy infantry's battery can't support it for too long when facing enemy anti-infantry fire.

Now the Engineers in PS2 developed a new technique: to connect infantry shield's energy supply with static battery which is several times larger than the mobile one they carried in the combat armor, to make defensive infantries in it much more resilient than usual.

The defenders in it use their own infantry weapon, the facility only provides some energy support to their personal shield, meanwhile it have no need about mobile concerns, so it should be cheaper in resources compared with engineer turrets.

It also provide a supporting point for infantry weapon, so some certain weapon type (yeah I mean minigun) can gain more shooting speed without much loss of accuracy.

This defensive position (I don't think out its name yet ... ) can be deployed by engineers, and have a limitation of number for each eng.

----------------------- more detailed ideas ------------------------

An alternative: Small Shield, don't strengthen personal shield with energy, but have a small shield hardly to penetrate, covers a proportion of the defensive soldiers. Snipers or good shooting players can shoot the uncovered part to kill the defender.

Energy source type:
A, static battery: largest amount of energy, but can only be recharged manually by engineers, and recharge takes some time, thus it should be hardly to recharge it in the middle time of a fierce battle, but only between the enemy waves;
B, microwave recharge; remotely recharged by the base power supply, the farther it's away from the base the slower it is recharged and there is a limitation of recharge speed even very close to the base (balance issue)
C, solar power ones: lowest amount energy, lowest recharge rate (also balance issue), but can be recharged normally even far away from bases or when the base power generator is disabled.

The facility body is hard to be hit by anti-tank weapon, and somehow resilient
to anti-infantry weapon, but relatively easier to be damaged from explosive bombardment.
