When will be able to download PS2?

As I understand it, we will have to download the game from scratch along with the new client. Does anyone have any info about this? Will we be able to download the game before it goes live?

Content distribution for these types of things is generally 3rd party ala Akamai, Limelight, or similar. If the game servers are even remotely close to the content, I'd be shocked.

I think Diablo3 was also handled by Akami? And if I remember correctly it was sloooow because half the globe tried to download the client at launch (the other half was smart enough to download the game beforehand ).

I don't think that beta testers will have to redownload the client. Code monkeys at SOE must know how to avoid forcing that.

Steam says the game will unlock in 4 days and 3 hours.
Expecting quite a big download so the pause button in steam will be welcome
