Flogging a dead horse but Steam + EU/ProSiben Account - still broken?

Hi Guys,

Probably flogging a dead horse but I'm pretty appauled to see that downloading the game client via Steam / trying to login with a ProSiben is still broken.

I'm swear sure I saw a Smed post of similar community post saying it is now working but basically a friend I tried to getting on Planetside 2 cannot login using the client downloaded from Steam and a ProSiben account.

As soon as he downloaded the non-steam EU version from www.planetside.eu it downloaded the EU version / allowed him to login.

In disbelief, I created a test account on www.planetside.eu and tried to login to the Steam client and got the same thing.

This is all making no sense - why doesn't the download on Steam prompt you to download the correct version by detecting your region or at least give you a warning that it will only work with US / SOE Station account?

Very, very confusing situation and needs some urgent attention IMHO - it's difficult enough to get new folks that are skeptical into this genre without this hurdle in front of it.

Just wondering if any of you guys have used a ProSiben account with the Steam client download without any additional tweaks / work-arounds (I heard rumours of a launchpad.ini tweak or replacing files etc... but I'm interested in it just working off the bat)?

I am in UK, as I was in beta I have a SOE account. But I have UK friends who have signed up since launch with Pro accounts, and they can all use the steam client.
