Check out this video and let me know what you think... lol!
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/SuNnmBJ40dg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> So... what do you think? How viable is this? Should this be patched? I think it adds a lot of fun to the game because of how hard it is to pull off without crashing. I don't think I'll do it too often, only if there is like 4-10 of them lined up on the a watchtower pad or something. |

I tried doing that on the crown. The AA maxes never rendered. Then I got blown up because they could see me. Happened twice
Tried a third time and got a double kill. Personally, this is the easiest way to kill an aa max. you bout to get rammed the fuck over |

Yup it's a good tactic, something that the hover cert makes a lot easier since you can ascend and descend so fast. Anyone smart enough to stay near the rails are much harder to hit since you landing gears come down when you're near a pad. The only real way to prevent this is for the MAX units to work together in tandem which usually means very good communication and teamwork and that is very rare. Most just spam the air with FLAH when they see an aircraft and rarely concentrate fire.

You act as if ESFs can just ram maxes wherever they feel inclined. Never mind terrain, other enemies, precision, approach angles, a million other variables including enemy competence, and most of all render distance.

So using the afterburner prevents the landing mechanic from sucking you into the ground? This is always the problem I have when flying low. It's nice that noobs can now land their planes without taking damage, but I liked it better in beta when you could skim the ground without having to worry about crashing.

Haha did this exact same thing near Tarwich with a Mossie. There was an NC sunderer parked up on a flat mesa where about 50 guys and a dozen AA MAX units were camped on. Took them by surprise and came up from behind road-killing a few. Took about three or four more passes and ended up getting maybe 20 kills. Probably should have gone for the sundy in the first place, but I was laughing too hard smearing all them smurfs across the rock. Its a viable tactic if you can catch them off guard. Other wise they'll just pick you out of the sky before you can even reach them.
