Actually I think more strategists would be drawn to the TR, as those with a strong interest in the military and military strategy tend to also value loyalty as well -- something the Vanu have little of compared to the Terrans.

Yes, if he was joining TR and TR was a majority, and them being a majority makes him more willing to join TR over the smaller factions, I'd concur with you.

my input's common sense so feel free to kill my children if you disagree, but i dont think any one empire is better than another...i figure theyd be balanced because of the gameplay issues...so why not make your choice based on your own preferences, or maybe even your playing style?

But TR Beta news is strangely quiet...

What kind of strategists did you mean? Like, people who know about RL tactics, or people who're fond of RTS games?

A little bit of both. History buffs mostly likely will go with TR because generally machine guns win out. In fact, if I did not know this game was balanced, I would say the NC is a novelty faction only for people who like Westerns and spy movies (James Bond with a 9mm pistol that blows up armored vehicles, and henchmen that are worse than toddlers at using their machine guns). But I know the game is balanced, so the NC is just as good as the other two (throwing away my Vanu bias for two seconds).

Heres my opinion on this.

vanu: more tech., hover technoligy, mobility.
NC: Faster, the phoinx rocket thing, and some wierd kinda biker helmet.
TR: Stronger, sleeker, and its colors are red and black!

I wont force ya to make this desicion, but i perfer TR....for my own reasons.

I dunno why but I think he's right about strategists chosing VS. I'm an extremely strategic person (in my own definition meaning I think outside the box, I find ways around situations easily, I am great at finding exploits to any situation given (NOT illegal exploits)). Also a buddy of mine who's also a strategic person was drawn to VS right away as well.
