PS2 subscription-new addition incoming

I replied to one of his posts in that thread about one of his recent tweets.

"Smedly this is unrelated but I want to hug you for sending that email to the team about Ps2 sub including PS1 access. That would really be ideal, allowing players to freely migrate between both games with full benefits for each. It would also show new guys how the old game operated, and what to expect from Ps2 down the line." -me

Actually I shouldn't really say incoming because he didn't say when and this whole development just unfolded like 30 minutes ago. So they could run into an unforeseen problem with implementing this or it may take some coding work or whatever.

Mods, whoever merged my thread into this one...why? Thank you mod for bringing it back!!

I'm hugely glad I decided to ask John Smedley about this possibility directly on Twitter, because it'd been mentioned in the PS2 off-topic forum section but there's no certainty it'd be seen there.

My guess is that they figured anyone who wanted to play both would just get an All Access Pass (the old Station Pass"). It's $5/month more, but grants you access to all the SOE games.

I said a long time ago that I thought it would be cool if they did this. I never imagined that no one there thought of this. I figured they just didn't do this to prevent taking more away from ps2's struggling population.

Kudos to you for reaching out and to the team if they fallow through. It would be awesome and probably help subs out. I've been thinking of dropping mine as it dosnt provide much, but would surely keep it if PS1 was included.

So now I'm confused; is PS1 not going to be F2P anymore, just available to those who have a PS2 premium sub? Or will PS1 F2P be limited like the reserves?

Okay, according to all of Smedly's replies today, PS2 premium sub will include PS1 access, but they are still making PS1 F2P just haven't had time to do so. Smed also think PS1 will remain a ghost town forever and anything they do won't change that. Kind of contradicts himself don't you think? Why bother going through all the effort-sub access, free to play overhaul if you think the game is going to remain dead???

I think he thinks some people will get the sub for PS1 regardless of whether they actually play it.

When is the PS1 access being activated? I really enjoy PS2 but as a kid always wanted to play PS1 but had no decent net or PC at the time (being a youngster).. really keen to test it out now!

Ps was a great game but i wont return. Its time is simply over.
By the way i dont think there will be enough people playing it.
