Here's a tip for those whining: if you think there's a cloaker around - stop staring down your scope and look around for them without it. Is that too hard for you?
It's not that infiltrators would be overpowered when using the sight. They are usually still as stupid as they would be if hsnv could see them. They just run straight at you and then you shoot them down from the hip. Nobody looks through hsnv all the time. Most of the time you aren't. It's just that there's no reason to not see them through it. Every other scope can see them and they do not have any drawbacks.

I didn't whine about it sunshine, I haven't since it was changed. I simply asked if it was intended, as it is the only scope with any sort of downside in the entire game. I was actually curious to know if it means they're going to introduce scopes that have a strategic disadvantage in the future. Considering it was never in any patch notes, I figured I would ask considering the upcoming pistols and their potential lulz with the infiltrator.

For those who seem to not understand, you cannot see an stealthed infiltrator at all. As in, your friend can run around in front of you stealthed, you look down the scope, and there will be no distortion or anything from the cloak effect.

I didn't say you were whining, just that IMO there's no reason for anyone to whine...

But clearly you're wrong when you say it's the only scope with a downside. It's just the only scope with this specific downside. All scopes have pros and cons - other scopes don't let you see in the dark, for example

But more seriously: if you take a reflex scope, you're no good at long range - if you take a high-mag scope you're no good close up. The NV scope has a similar trade-off - you can see clearly in the dark and you highlight enemies, but Infiltrators become extra-invisible.

I think that's fair enough, and an interesting balance. I don't know if it was intentional or not, but I hope they keep it. There's certainly no need to buff the NV scope.

i think the ability to see enemies from they're hidy holes far far far outweighs any negatives such as not being able to see past a certain distance or problems seeing infiltrators.

Why would higby keep infiltrators in the game if he didn't like stealth gameplay. Why would he implement wraith cloak flashes? Logic.

The NV scope tradeoff is you cannot see past 75m or whatever, it's the only scope that creates visual distortion at a certain distance, afaik. The NV scope is intended close range. It highlights objects through high contrast, but greatly impairs your peripheral vision. Your field of view is being sacrificed for essentially more focus targets. The reflex scopes advantage is supposed to be that you can see your peripheral and therefore be able to react to it.

Yes, I'm aware of all that, I use the NV scope regularly. I still think it's perfectly balanced.
