Hello,

I am Manny (Manloriel in-game), and I am proud to present the newest outfit on Connery USWest for the Terran Republic, the 8th Brigade.

About this Outfit:

The 8th Brigade will be a military realism clan that will feature a US Army chain of command, authentic promotion system, medals and ribbons, squad formations and tactics, teamspeak, and disciplined soldiers and NCO's. If you are interested in a fun outfit (while being serious about our job), are a hard-working team player, a good listener, and a supporter of military realism in clans, then this may be a suitable outfit for you!

Since this is a new outfit, we will focus on building a smaller squad that reflects a tightly bonded brotherhood of those who not only enjoy the game, but enjoy learning and growing with others in a infantry-based setting. As activity and quality membership grows, we will consider expanding the ranks, duties, develop more strategies, push for minor schedule changes, and running OPs in higher quantities.

We will primarily operate between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm PST. Most players are on in the evening and understandably so, however I am catering towards those who are mostly on during these PST hours (different timezones, work evenings, etc). I am also choosing this time frame because the server is a little less populated which allows more flexibility in squad operations without being completely overwhelmed at every base.

A little about myself and Why I am doing this:

I have been a lifetime military supporter and a serious gamer for well over a decade. My fascination with the US Military structure is something I personally enjoy bringing to the world of gaming, and it has produced a fine military-realism clan in the past that ran for nearly six years known as the 19th Infantry Division, which hosted six different war games, and became a home to over 700 players in that time span (up 160 active at one time). Due to time constraints and people moving on, the clan eventually broke up. And so, I am aiming to build up yet another private gaming community with this new PlanetSide 2 outfit: The 8th Brigade. The name itself is even a carry over from my old clan.

Where did the '8th Brigade' originate? Nine years ago on Medal of Honor Allied Assault, I came across the [TSF] Clan, known as the Tactical Strike Force. Their MoH:AA segment was known as the 8th Brigade at the time. I enlisted with them for over a year. They tremendously valued their teamwork, dedication, and ethics to clan events. Eventually, the clan was beginning to disband due to unfortunate life circumstances. I vowed to them that I would carry on the 8th Brigade name for as long as I was into gaming. Over the next 5-6 years, the 8th Brigade was the primary and finest brigade (out of five total) in the 19th Infantry Division and and had the most people 9 times out of 10.

And so, it has been about two years since the 19th parted ways, and I, once again, am resurrecting the 8th Brigade for a new generation of gamers on an entirely new game. I have seen the ups and downs, but the 8th Brigade is a name that has not taken itself lightly in the past years, and I desire to continue

I am an outfit leader but keeping the line of command and cohesion with my squads/platoon is very hard!
I like to say, with I tell, everyone rush to the point, if I see 4 people of the 24+ from the outfit, it is already exceptional!
I am an Arma player since it was called operation flashpoint, version 1.0. I played with several players from the Brazilian army...
It is really hard for me when I say: "no one open fire, we are not detected yet, lets place c4 behind those tanks", and 5 seconds after, 1-3 heavies start firing rockets at then...
Or: "this is a striker line, no one start locking to the enemy until I say so, and everyone at the target I will spot and say the name", just to see some players firing at will and several targets escaping because not enough players locked at the same target for a fast kill...
I do have some players that understand that, my first msg here about my outfit were always, something like: I and more 3 players with explosive pouch, mined a road, got strikers, stayed under cover with a stealth sunderer, and ambushed several tanks advancing on that road! It was a great afternoon of tank hunting!
On my outfit I always say we got a golden rule, never park your tank behind a friendly tank, I am also a WoT player, but I already had to kick (temporally) several players from the squad because they killed my prowler standing behind me!
Ok, people already complain I make this forum as a personal blog, so lets get to the point.
Can I run with you guys sometimes? I really miss playing with some coordination in this game, just add me in game, nick is on my signature, call me anytime and I will join you guys when I can, sometimes it won't be possible because my outfit will need me, but on the times you guys are planning to play, most of my outfit members are going to be offline, so it looks possible to me.

Just checked, your guys are on Connery, good luck guys! Maybe I will create a toon there to play with you, if possible.

I will certainly add you Falcon. We are a fresh outfit, but we strive to use teamwork and coordination whenever possible. I saw this was possible when I was in OP4, and I seek to make it a reality in the 8th Brigade. Right now we are focusing on building a tough squad, because once the squad is built, then it will be easy from there.

As for other visitors, Enlist today! Yesterday we were on all day just practicing squad formations and having a good time.
