Didn't get much play time, but so far so good. Loading times are down big time BUT I got a crash to desktop when I tried to select a far away spawnpoint. Only played about half an hour, so its a bit too early to call it. Never had that kind of crash before, though (rarely have crashed tbh since I've been playing PS2).
Do not like the new UI, but I'm going to give it more time. |

Originally from the .ini file. Now i deleted it, let the game create another and then turned everything up again except the checkboxes (motion blur etc). Unplayable after that... turned most of the settings to medium/low so that i can play.

Some good some bad.
Overall the performance in live seems to be better than I was getting on test, but I may have not had my settings where they needed to be on test and just thought I did. Disclaimer I'm on a laptop with GPU below minimum spec. I didn't expect this to benefit me as, being below spec there I don't really have a leg to stand on to complain about performance. Moving performance to more GPU bound worried me. Prior to the update I would float from 20-30 FPS in the warpgate and in medium and small fights. Regularly dipping to 10-15 in a large fight with noticeable warping and stuttering limiting some of my play style. After the update overall WG FPS is a bit more stable but lower, like 22ish. BUT driving around an empty area of Esamir I had PFS upwards of 55! I've never gone above 35 previously. BUT, going into battles drops my FPS down to 15 much quicker and there is a bit more warping and stuttering to the other players AND my movement. Like aiming at CQC is much harder, I'd say unplayable actually and I'm used to attempting to play with performance a lot of folks already say are unplayable. Kinda sad. With the switch to more GPU based though, being on a laptop I can feel when my CPU heats up and after a short time playing felt VERY little heating of the CPU at least this is a huge bonus. UI is fuggly. The bars are just too big and bright. I like a centralized hud but it just needs to be toned down a bunch. I'll have to delete my .ini file and see if I can optimize my performace a bit. I don't need much more and the huge increase I saw in empty areas gives me hope I can adjust something to get me better performance in battles. I also ran around at a few bases and what not to see exactly how far 150m is. It is a very short distance, and goes against a LOT of the areas map design. Almost like the maps were designed with sniping from 200-250m in mind. |

A bit crashy atm, but performance has definitely improved. I don't think my max fps has increased all that much, but it's way more stable. I'm happy.

Spent a good 5 hours on last night / this morning.
No major dramas... none at all really. Im getting use to the UI. I didnt experience any slow downs or lag in big bio lab fights and everything was just as it should be. I guess a 3930x and Titan help though... |

So I gotta say, performance on my desktop has gotten so much better. Running a PhenomII x4 with 4MB DDR2 RAM and a GTX460, I'm now keeping around 20FPS in big firefights (or massive celebration spam in the Warpgate) and it's totally smooth, no stuttering or anything. My graphics are better too; i was previously on medium-low settings, now I'm using the default all medium. After about 2h30 I did get a few stutters, but that seemed to go away quickly and might have been something coming on in the background.
My laptop though is another matter. i5 with 4GB and a Mobility HD5650, I used to be able to play with 15-20 FPS max, but now it's a completely unplayable slideshow. So far no settings or tweaking has helped. Oh, and no crashing issues at all for me. |
