This week's question, courtesy of T-Ray, is ...
“Would you like the ability to customize your drop pod?” As always, respond here or e-mail us at [email protected] or call us at (415)787-3224!

No, not really no. I don't really see the point. Normally no one is going to notice it unless you flatten someone.
Only exception for me would be outfit colours/decals. Of course one could argue that if you go that far then you might as well go the rest of the way and make it customizable for everyone. I guess I'm just not a huge fan of making everything customizable when it comes to appearance.

Considering it's only there for like 5 seconds, no. Unless you're talking about slots to buff things like maneuverability in transit. But even then, same argument as before.

no real point, although if there is demand for it, sure whatever. but its not if someone is going to look at your drop pod to see all the art it has on it while it is falling straight down at 200kph or whatever.
although, it could be a waste of time that could have been used elsewhere (the roadmap, anyone?) |

Would rather see it removed honestly and replaced with a vehicle that could be customized instead. It would offer a very unique vehicle and create a clear target that must be moved to the front lines.
I've always felt the spawn beacon idea was horrible for gameplay. It's far too easy to use and has way too many ways to abuse it. Most of the map design is also not designed with it in mind. The increased speed and lower range fixed the issue where they could land anywhere in a base and on vehicles, but it created more issues. You can no longer shoot them down with AA or ESFs (it might be possible with an ESF but it's hit and miss). They also land so fast that it's hard to react to them when one falls next to you especially with a shotgun user inside. So yeah customizing them would probably just be a waste of time. So many other things on the roadmap that are higher priority for the next few years.

If I could look like I'm sitting in a toilet reading newspaper with my pants down and gun in a corner while dropping down from a gal it would be hilarious. Otherwise I see no point.

I have an Idea, let introduce drop bombs that you could release while dropping down in drop pod. This way you could clean area for landing Epic idea, in my opinion. As epic as customizable drop pods.

Visually? No.
Sound-wise? Yes. I want it to do stuff like play the Red Dwarf theme or play a sound clip of a high-pitched British guy saying, "Does this bug you?" repeatedly until the pod despawns. Like Monty Python. |

while I hate to be too much of a, "Yeah, that!" I agree with the opinions of others. It's just too short lived, really. About the only thing I could see worthwhile is an outfit tag on the pod or perhaps a decal. That way, allies/enemies could see which outfit is arriving ot save/defeat them.
