Currently the Lib is configured to operate like a AC130 (ignoring the CAS) delivering pew pew while orbiting the area with a big gun with a rearward mount.

I'd suggest the new variant try and emulate a heavy ground attack platform (a Strike Lib), bring back the articulated nose gun under the gunner's primary (make a choice between AI or AV?*) and give the pilot low-RoF rockets which hit harder than the ESF's. Maybe the gunner could have a selectable secondary which could designate and guide those rockets but with cool down/spin up to make the choice to leave the gun for a shot a little more tactical.

This variant may also lose its tailgun to encourage it to use hit and run and not to loiter which would remain the job of the traditional variant. Maybe it gets 2 passenger seats in compensation.


* maybe take the CAS off of the old lib and make it a turret gun for the new strike Lib.

100 meters away from where they were, considering the point of the feature is to pick people up while moving over them.

I'd be pretty pissed off if I was a sniper in a good position and some douche did that to me.


... in fact, I would probably use the ability purely just to grief snipers. Because fuck them.

They should work on making existing Lib weapons viable rather than add new ones.

* Tank Buster is better than the Vektor in every way

* Drake is still bad compared to the Walker, Bulldog is used sometimes

* Sitting in the tailgun is pointless when you can bellygun aircraft

* Zephyr is never used by good crews ever since the nerf, it's either Dalton or Shredder

* High G is used the most, Precision Bomber is used sometimes by pilots who like using the Tank Buster, and Racer is not really that good

Also, there is the dilemma with Auto Repair being required on every air vehicle, but that is a separate issue on the air game design in general.

They need to make the third seat (tailgun) a worthwhile position.

I would like to see something like a Ion Cannon from C&C. A new long range example.

It will be some kind of laser beam, that can be seen from far away for everyone, so that using it makes you a prime target. It starts of doing very low damage and the damage increses with the time it stays on the target. So in order to use it you either need a incredilbe gunner or need to stay still which makes you very vulnerable.

And we should make a petition so that SOE doesnt gve us any lock on weapons.

add another person to the main front gun and give it a limited field/cone of fire (like and extra turret). 4 man libs with no actual buff to available firepower!

Strafing weapons. Basiacaly replace wthe belly gun with a larger weapon facing slightly below the front. These woudl have a limited range of movement and extremaly slow reload but very high dmage. The basic idea would be or the pilot to strafe the target with his nosegun and then the gunner deliver the finshing blow quickly as the liberator clzooms away. Possibly allowing the tail gunner a few potshots.

er... so they are taking a ship which is already the bane of infantry and vehicles everywhere able to sit at a height where nobody but other aircraft can shoot them while bombarding huge areas... and IMPROVING it? Are they actually insane?

Jesus man you made me laugh at this one. What kind of fairy tale version of PS2 have you been playing? Sorry to say There are no air based platforms that can farm without risk from ground fire. It's people like you who make these ridiculous statements that make me lose faith in the competence of infantry players in PS2. Try and spend more then 28 mins in a lib before you speak on the matter of how all powerful you feel they are.

Its always hilarious to see the people who want to defend every easy to use thing there is, I know you most likely spend no time in anything but a lib to farm easy certs and get a good k/d ratio as you think its more important than helping but that doesn't stop anything I said being true. Majority of the time libs are so high up that the only chance of hitting them is AA turrets on top of towers, even then the extreme range makes it very hard to get a hit, all the while the lib bombs the crap out of the land below, they might not be able to get accurate hits in but during big fights they just need to spam mindlessly to get a lot of kills.

And don't bother replying, I already know what it will be, a insult combined with how great a player you are and how the lib is really awful and needs many buffs so it can kill tanks in under 2s as the current 4s just isn't fast enough
