SOE has posted another roadmap update with some Infiltrator goodness and death screen changes
Infiltrator: Updated deliverables Death Screen: New mockup Spawn Changes: updated timeframe, marked completed deliverable February Player Studio: added some sweet new screenshots Resource Revamp: created new entry with new design Added March Misc post only entry for now is weapon medal expansion |

They need to take that killer-direction-indicator out of the game. It's just a way to reduce the pay off from skillful players that flank or snipe the enemy, making it easier for less aware people to react to a threat. It will dumb the game down and is totally unnecessary.

I like the 'shift+tab' to see the screen again. The current screen often disappears too quickly. |

And finally, they have thrown any remaining design direction overboard. Telling people now that their design "doesn't fit into the game" stands on very, very shaky legs from now on. Not like this is a new thing concerning some recent decals and camos, but it looks like they given up on this. Prepare for Hello Kitty and My Little Pony decals soon. edit: It would be better zoomed in more. It would do just as good a job of showing the direction the shot came from, but it would stop it from showing the precise location of the shooter. I'd be ok with that. edit2: Or just a short arrow instead of the line. Same deal. Looks pretty VS to me.

"Killed by" - just noticed that thing on the screenshot. I do not like it. As an infiltrator I must change my position all the time having this information available to the killed enemy.
Some will say it is good but it often takes ages to find a good spot and just by killing someone you will reveal yourself. Makes using silencer on sniper rifle almost useless. |

Killcam won't shake my playstyle too much, if anything it will help drive Planetside more towards that frantic fighting people seem to love so much. Rule of thumb on my server is if you stand still you're dead. That's just my 2 cents on that though. I did however just notice that 'Lifetime Review' in the bottom right showing a recap of the XP earned in a life and absolutely love it.

Yeah after today, please no killcam. Started messing with the infiltrator, got behind enemy lines on a really big hill, picked off 2 AV turrets that were hindering our tank columns, then nailed a slew of other guys that we're repairing tanks, sniping, relieving themselves, etc.
I don't usually do this but had a kill cam been implemented I would have been caught and killed. This also opened my eyes to the fact that an infiltrator (sniper, for that matter) can have a very large impact on a battle. |
