I was just wondering what vehicles can a person in reinforced drive and the real point of this thread, does wearing reinforced armor slow down your running speed or is the only drawback not being able to drive vehicles?

Any ground vehicle can be driven by reinforced armor, yes it slows down your running speed, as all armors do the heavier they get, same with weapons. And you can't fly anything with reinforced armor - be kinda cheap to have a heavy assault unit bail out of their mos/reaver and start unloading. But they can get in galaxies as passengers.

Heres the deal. RA can drive wraiths (WHY?) Basilisks, harrasers and empire specific buggy. Can not fly, use any tanks. Can man any gun position and any passenger position. Running speed is decreased from the other armors, but still faster then maxs. The inventory is larger, can carry two rifles and two pistols. Plus it looks spiffy.
Personally i think ill use agile or max more often. |

Agile bonuses: Faster running speed. Can pilot 'enclosed' vehicles
Reinforced bonuses: More armor, extra rifle slot, more inventory. You'd REALLy want that reinforced as an infantryman, particuarly when you cannot get into a MAX for whatever reason. Reinforced bonuses over MAX: Faster regular speed (ignoring sprint), VERSITILITY. MAX bonuses over reinforced: Screaming Engine O' Death. Better armor, better weaponry (vs specific target type). Agile or MAX is going to be pretty good most of the time, particularly on D (when you have access to all a base's facilities), but on offense, agile is going to bite on account of not being able to get a new vehicle without traveling back to a different base than the one being attacked. Thing is, all a MAX is good for is making stuff go BOOM, and there's quite a bit more going on than that in PS. Not to say that making stuff go BOOM isn't important, but it's definitely not the only show in town. |

The way i see it the agile still has the advantage of being able to get back to the vech pad faster. Not to mention it can pilot alot more useful vechs like Sunderer, Deliverer, AMS, Galaxy, ANT, and tanks. Ask your squad which theyd prefer, transport for all plus duel cannons (tri if you go galaxy) or a harraser. The armor differance isnt even that much. 50 points. So what do you want speed or the ability to take more hits (not a hell of alot more either). |
