Very Slight Upgrade

My current system specs are as follows:
1.2 GHz athalon XP
256 PC2100
GeForcMX 200

As it stands now, I can play decently well as a combat engineer or an infiltrator, but whenever I try to play a grunt, or something else more twitch based, the lag really kills me. I play with the graphics settings as low as they go. I figured, out of all the things I could upgrade, memory would be the best. My plan is to slap another 512 PC2100 in there, boosting it to 768 of the good stuff. With that, do you guys think I would be able to play with the lowest graphics at a decent frame rate?
