Urban Combat in Core Combat

Is it just me or is there absolutely no urban combat in Core Combat? 'Urban' implies a city. Cities are generally places of habitation. The caverns look like alien bases or facility clusters or something, but absolutely do not resemble an urban environment. I was hoping for apartments with coffee tables and maybe pictures on the walls, parks with fountains, malls, or anything that would resemble an urban environment. Ok, so it's an alien city, put some alien furnishing in the alien houses if that's what it takes. The caverns are cold and sterile.

I think people wanted to get away from the sterile, impersonal, cold surface bases and get into an environment where all those cool urban fighting tactics would pay off, but CC just doesn't do it.

I wonder why they billed it as 'urban combat'. I wonder why they rushed it. If I were the lead producer on PlanetSide, I would make CC free and apply the purchase price to the monthly fee for people who had already bought it. Three new vehicles, three new weapons and modules that kinda suck just isn't worth the price of a brand new game. Is it? Nah. They really pushed this one out the door and I can't figure it out. It's likely to keep new players away from PlanetSide, because if they have to buy the game, they can expect to tack on another $30 for CC to be competitive (well, ok, you don't need CC to be competitive in any way, shape or form, but new players might not know this).

In short, as a big PlanetSide fan, Core Combat has me stumped and a bit frustrated. Not only did it fail to expand the game, the new bugs and performance degradation rather deflated it. Something must be done if PlanetSide is to maintain its reputation. You know something is wrong when a free trial of your expansion turns out to generate a wave of people who say "CC is just not worth it".

Purely my opinion as someone who has thoroughly tested Core Combat and who knows what kind of games are out there that cost just over $30.
