how durable are maxes

all these people are seeming to think that maxes can just sit there and take hit after hit after hit without a problem. Now, i watched the Gamespot vid, and it seems that they can't do that. Some max was getting hit by a frickin punisher, and dies in like 10 shots maybe. It seems to me that maybe 1 or 2 rockets or nades will be fine for takin em down. So, how durable do you, the people think they are?
