From our better late than never news comes this week's Weekly Developer Activities as posted by Sporkfire:
Hopefully, youve had the chance to try out the BFRs on Public Test Server by now. Were busy working at making the BFRs work as smoothly as possible and to getting the balance for them right at release. You can check out pretty much everything being worked on by tracking the series of Public Test Release notes from the past week or so.
Along with BFRs, there have been other updates to report as well. These have already been put into Public Test Release Notes, but Ill pull out the non-BFR related highlights.- We are changing the way kills are counted for statistical tracking and display. For more details, check out the In Concept article.
- Vehicles access permissions can now be controlled for each type of mount point (Driver, Gunner, Passenger, Trunk). Galaxy and Lodestar cargo use the passenger access setting.
- Fixed an issue that prevented lock-on weaponry from locking after deconstructing in a spawn tube.
- Repair Silos will be placed in Sanctuaries.
- Implemented the Vehicle Viewing Direction Indicator and Advanced Color Options.
- Capturable Cavern buildings show SOIs on the map.
- Telefragging will only occur against enemy soldiers.
Also, as I hinted at last week, there is planning going on for another in-game global event.
Stat tracking on MyPlanetSide is queued for resolution. We have identified the correct path to fix the issue, it just takes some time as that work is handled by internal SOE resources who are in high demand across the company. But I am in touch with them frequently to find out status and when we can expect to have the stats tracking again.
NOTE: This just in:- Created a new certification tree for Armored Assault that includes acquisition for BattleFrame Robotics.
- Armored Assault 1 - Access to the Lightning Tank - cost 2
- Armored Assault 2 - Access to the empire specific Medium Battle Tank - cost 1 (requires that you have Armored Assault 1)
- Flail - Access to the Flail - Cost 1 (requires that you have Armored Assault 2)
- BattleFrame Robotics - Cost 2 (requires that you have Armored Assault 2)
- The Harasser is now also included in the Assault Buggy certification. While the Light Scout vehicles are now located in other certs (Lightning in Armored Assault 1 and Harasser in Assault Buggies) we left in the Light Scout cert for anyone who is interested in keeping it.
