In the MMORPG world, classes cannot have certain items, but you can always customize your layout with what you need and how you play with just the class constraint.
This reminds me too much of the hard layouts in all the other FPS's where you start with a layout, get certain amount of ammo, med kits, etc...

I never meant to imply that inventories had to be removed to make classes work, I was just using it to address boomers and further clarify another restriction on loadouts that will be present in the game.
I do sincerely hope that they aren't going to stick us with hard layouts like many FPS's have, but to think that inventories are needed to have loadout customization is crazy. There are tactical shooters that have no freeform inventory grid, but still let you customize your equipment loadout. Maybe we should ask the devs during next weeks Q&A, because it's my hope that loadouts will still be heavily customizable.
Would it really hurt the game if we could no longer pull a couple extra rifles out of our ass? As long as the game is balanced around no inventory space (Reloadable Decimator?) and as long as loadout customization is still robust, how much will actually be lost?
Some of the more creative, freeform inventory loadout variations will be lost. That sucks, but it won't hurt the overall game.
Now, limiting loadouts to predefined amounts of ammo, grenades, etc., that would certainly hurt the game. No argument from me.
