Discussion about hypothetical balance based on the first game, or based on what little information we know about the sequel, is one thing. I think it can be interesting, perhaps even useful if it generates any good ideas or feedback for the devs.
Crying for nerfing something we haven't tried is a whole different matter. I tend to put a reasonable amount of trust in the devs to not be complete retards when it comes to game balance, because otherwise the entire project is fucked and why bother following it? That, and the fact that they have so far proved themselves to be more than competent
That's not to say that the game will be perfectly balanced by the time beta opens up, but that's what beta is for. To get the game as close to perfect as possible before it goes live. I think it's reasonable to assume that the majority of the game will at least be in the close ballpark of balanced by the time beta comes along though.
It may not be the style some players prefer in every area, but I have no doubt that the driver gunned MBT's will not be over running everything else in the game on beta day one.
There will undoubtedly be cries, legitimate and otherwise, for nerfing and buffing stuff once we enter beta, but that's the appropriate time for such calls. Not now.
For now let's try to just discuss the balance issues as they are; hypothetical.
