World Record 1000 FPS Players

On January 29th, 2012 a web browser game made by MuchDifferrent will attempt to land in the Guinness Book of World Records by hosting a first-person shooter supporting up to 1000 simultaneous players on a single map.

In their Gamer info screen, the original Planetside is given credit for the current holder of player density.

What is the current world record?

This game is a First Person Shooter (FPS) game. The most player dense known commercial FPS game is PlanetSide which supports 399 players in the same zone. As our game is played in the browser and is made in Unity - it is very possible that we break a few other records as well.

I certainly hope if they manage to get an fps player number record that it's a short lived victory when Planetside2 captures that title soon. If you want to know more, Check out their web page here for details and how to participate.
