Back and playing looking for help

Hi, I recently started playin again back from when PS1 first came out. I play NC at the moment, but have an old VS character br10. I am PST time zone and will be playing at night mostly 8pm-12am (11pm EST-3am EST), maybe later weekends. I am wondering if there are any outfits willing to take a green n00b who really loves this game and just needs a little guidance. I prefer NC if possible, but can play VS if that fits better.(sorry no TR chars, but NOT totally opposed to starting out fresh if the opportunity presents itself)

I am having a terribly tough time and getting owned by finding fights to get into on my own.
I just need some refresher and the "common" stuff every planetside soldier should know. I.e. use xxx weapon, dont use yyy weapon, take cert aaa always, etc.
