I didn't have an "in" and I never played with Goons in Eve.

I just used the contact form on their site and pasted in my article. At some point I got an email that out of 22 essays, mine got selected.
The Mittani then called me on Skype to say that I was hired and set up/talked me through my staff account so I could publish the article. It was a bit confusing tbh as my intention was only to submit a one-off article, so I refused any monthly salary. It turned out that my article submission happened to be as they where just hiring new writers, making me look as one of the applicants
So I probably will get "fired" soon but who knows, I might actually get the inspiration and submit more articles :-)

Btw just to be sure, I love SOE and the article is an opinion, not a fact. I get a lot of down votes atm on reddit from people that obviously didn't get this.
