PS2 API/"Players" ETA/Questions?

Sorry if this a well known fact or something, but I can't seem to find an answer and I figured someone here of all places might know. Basically, I know PSU's gotten early access to the API but I'm wondering if anyone's got even a rough estimate as to when it will go public.

I'm also curious what their version, their whole "Players" section will be. Also when the API is made public, will there be any extra features? Or is this it? Not that this isn't a ton already, just curious.
