Hot Dropping - Galaxy

Just some clarification questions for hotdropping.

Is it strictly controlled by the pilot? If so which key by default kicks everyone out?

Can you initiate the hot drop out of the galaxy yourself, (by default E)?

And just to reconfirm, unlike deployment drops, you can not engage in any movement (guiding) while hotdropping else you go splat? No movement until you hit the ground.

Reason I ask is our squad is going to start implementing better use of the galaxy and I haven't frequented one enough to be perfectly sure.
