Are there any plans to change or increase the vehicle deconstruct timer? One thing that PS2 imo does badly is to encourage players to fight between bases with armour and then to assault bases with infantry.
One of the downsides to getting out of your vehicle is that you have to keep going back to the tank every 5 minutes to refresh the timer.
This definitely discourages tank and armour crews from transitioning from armour to infantry. This was what I loved in PS1. The fights had phases.. armour then the siege/assault of a base. Park up the vehicle and then get back to it asap when the base was won/captured and roll on.
If we are fighting on Esamir and don't have tech then I get really attached to the tank I'm in. If I lose the tank I have to go back to the wg or may not have resources to pull another (resources are rarely an issue)
If I lose a tank in a fight - cool. But if I lose a tank because I'm in the middle of an exciting 5 minute gun battle and I cant get back to it then it's frustrating. I have to take 5-10 minutes out of the game to go back the wg and solo drive across a continent.
Please devs consider increasing the vehicle despawn timer or even removing it completely - despawn on inactivity or something like that. I bet it won't decrease the number of objects in the world very much since any unattended vehicles tend to get destroyed very quickly.
Perhaps give infiltrators the added ability to deconstruct them? Or, daresay, to hack them and drive them off \o/ I heard this was a feature of Battlefield 3 yeah *8)
Note: Love the stuff you've previewed with the shields around the bases - cant wait for this to arrive!!!! Proper bases which need to be taken by infantry and not by spawn camping in vehicles! \o/
