*If* we do voice IP support, it will be peer-to-peer...for sure.
In otherwords, it won't affect our servers at all. Each player would be passing voice information directly from his computer to the other computers in the "channel".
What this means is that there would be a theoretical limit of how many players could be connected together based upon how the system is implemented...or which third-party software you use for voice chat.
It would affect YOUR bandwidth...not ours. In otherwords, you might see some lagging and stuff in-game that would have NOTHING to do with Planetside itself...but rather, it would be due to the fact that you're jamming a bunch more data through your bandwidth because you're using a Voice IP system.
Make sense? We don't officially support voice IP systems because...quite frankly...it's a real pain in the butt training people how to use third-party software. (After all...that's what THEIR tech support folks are for...right?
