Core Combat - a 'two-tiered' situation ?

Hi all,

Not sure if anyone else has already posted about this, but I'm currently not planning to buy CC until I'm sure I'll play this game for more than a few more months.

My worry is that Core Combat might produce a two-tiered game, where those of us who choose not to buy the expansion will be grossly underpowered compared to opponents who have access to the new weaponry / vehicles etc. Has there been any press release by the devs commenting on this possible situation, or does anyone know if balancing / weighting tests have been performed to try to ensure that those choosing not to buy the expansion aren't left totally screwed ?

On the cynical side, do the devs care ? Are they hoping to strong-arm people into buying the expansion by purposefully giving us no chance against enhanced enemies ?

Your thoughts ?
