Improvements and purchase

Hi,

Sorry to clutter the forum but I just wanted to ask peoples opinion on a few things.

I was in the beta of planetside and although I enjoyed the game initially I decided not to buy it on account of a few bugs and the relentless repetetive nature of the game coupled with horrific lag at times and some server problems.

I've seen that there has been a lot of updates since then and I'm considering buying the game I just wanted to know a few things.

Is the balance of the game better now?
Has the new system of base capture improved the flow of the game and taken battles away from being solely at facilities?
Is the lag better than it was?
Is there more skill involved in combat now rather than it being a weapon size contest?

Previously I became fed up with being a good player but permenantly loosing out to people who just had a bigger gun than me.

In short is the game substantially better now than it was 6 months ago in beta, is it stable, more optimised and more fun over time to warrent a purchase?
