And VS have maxes out the ass now. In fact, some people have gone far enough to call a VS zerg the "Million Max March"

I play VS on Emerald and I can tell you why we have so many MAXs. The reason being is that beside the common pool deci, we really have no AV or AA weapons except for the MAXs. The striker and Phoenix might not be super powerful, but at least they get a lock. The VS MAX's can get a lock so they make our AA and AV easier against the hoard of vanguards and reavers. The lancer takes too many shots to take out any vehicle and it has no lock and a significant COF bloom when moving. This is not a complaint, just a statement as to why there are so many VS MAX's.
Also, to all those that think the Mag is a sniper tank. It is true that the cannon has a straight projectile which is awesome. But having to nail a rexo 3 times in the chest to bring him down when all you hear is "BEEP" and see is "Warning: Missle Lock" makes it difficult to use. The prowler and vanguard don't even have to get a direct hit to kill an infantry (but this is the way a tank should be). When my mag driver and I see a vanguard, she usually turns and bolts to the nearest strategical cover (meaning using the geography to our advantage) while I pelt the thing with the cannon (btw, we are very good as a mag team). No way a mag can stand 1 on 1 with a vanguard or prowler without its hover ability and maneuverabilty (again, the way it is supposed to be and should be). Which I think is where a lot of the VS players are coming from when they post. We have learned to use the manueverability of our empire to our advantage in most cases, but to give hover vehicles and our manueverability as a common pool makes us feel like our special ability is not so special anymore. It is a huge advantage not to have to use the bridges, and huge advantage to be able to hover. If everyone can do it, where is our advantage?
Again, this is a clarification post and I am not saying anything needs to be buffed or nerfed. I like the empires the way the were after the balance patch. I saw a lot more good base defenses and attacks by all empires. This is my opinion. Feel free to flame on now.
