How stupid can an enemy army get?

Went sking yesterday and my friend thought it would be hilarious if we some how invented a way to make a gigantic quickly transportable ski lift. Then get a spy to pose as an enemy general. Drop the lift into the enemys camp at night and get the general to tell everyon it will bring them to destroy the infadels. So they all jump on and it carries them to like 100 ft up all the way into one of our base camps. It drops them into a fireing line biulding (like the seats drop out) and they are shot. I know u could just bring them up 100ft and drop them but this way is so much funner!

PS this isnt serious at all youd have to be pretty dumb to do it. (Or u could do it to france in a war and tell them its a runaway lift)
