Well, PSU community. I have a proposal.
Now, i am prepared for any flaming that you feel is necessary, and i feel some will probably be necessary due to my comparison, but just hear me out.
I was playing Grand Theft Auto: Vice City today and i was thoroughly enjoying the physics of momentum and acceleration and what not that you really don't experience in PS.
My proposition is this: the devs need to implement more realistic vehicle physics. I think it would add to the excitement, realistic feel, aesthetics, and fun of the game. Light, fast vehicles swerving in tight, high-speed turns, and peel outs, and perhaps even gears and what not to make driving a bit more than just pressing the auto-drive button and moving your mouse around. Also, heavy wheeled vehicles would take MUCH longer to stop when the breaks are put on, and tanks should have perhaps dual track control to have a zero degree tunring radius like tanks in real life. I don't know how the controls would be laid out for this, but it would make the game exTREMEly fun, i think.
Also, a more realistic damage modifier, where if you hit a tank in the ass with a rocket it's gonna do more damage than hitting it head on witha rocket. Hitting a vehicle's engine area would do more damage as well. and the most would be if you could somehow hit underneath. Plus, immobilization of vehicles. Knock out a tank's tracks and it's now a stationary gun that's also a Deci-magnet. Hit a Del's tires and it becomes immobile or wildy uncontrollable.. I dunno, this shit may be waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to complex for the code and engine as it is, but if the devs could ever find a way then i think this would add a lot more excitement to the game.
It just seemed to me that the vehicles and vehicle combat are a little one-dimensional.
