someone in my office (a former friend of mine) does this sort of thing all the time.
"my car got totaled in an accident yesterday" "i got [bodily] hit by a car in the parking lot" "i got carjacked, kidnapped, and taken to a drug sale" and those were all in ONE MONTH. actually, now that i think about it, i have a picture. brace yourself, and make sure your kids aren't watching.
