Variant colors

Aren't the variants black? Im VS and Ive been told the ams and deli and aurora is purple. I asked som1 in my outfit he said they look blak to him too but someone else told him it is a bug that they arent colored like the pictures on ps.com. Can you see them colored? How can I fix it
