I think I just leveled up as a geek

Me, my brother, and my dad are at the local Quizno's, in line for sandwiches. Me and my brother are discussing The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy*

It went something like this:

Bro: "Can't astronauts just swim back to the ship if they get untethered?"

Me: "There's nothing to push against. In water, you can push the water, but space is void. Of course, if your oxygen supply runs out, you have exactly 30 seconds to be picked up or you will choke."

Bro: "Unless the Infinite Improbablilty Drive ship comes by and picks you up. What were the chances of that, 2^2143532:1 or something?"

Me: "Yeah, something astronomical or something like that. I'm not even going to say it."

Bro: "What about the Space-Time Continuum?"

Me: "There isn't one. You can go forward in time to Milton's, witness the end of the universe, and come back unharmed."

Stranger Lady in the Sandwich Line: "Come on, we have two weeks of summer left, don't talk about technical stuff yet!"

*The movie. I haven't read the book, but it must be better. The movie didn't talk about the guy whose pens disappeared.

At which point my character levelled up to a L17 Battle Mage, and I got a tunic color change. Not really. But damn, that was funny.
