With the Medium Assualt weapon cert you will have the option to use either the Punisher or your empire specific weapon (Pulsar,Cycler, and Gauss).
Which do you see yourself using more often. Why? As a wanna-be medic, I will most likely go with my empire rifle (Gauss) to save inventory space (under-barrel ammo vs medical applicator canisters).
