For weight loss I'd suggest reading up on the program Body For Life if you have the time to commit to it. That shit works, 12 weeks of intense training usually resulting in a loss of 30 pounds of fat and adding 5-10 pounds of muscle. I've done 1 and a half challenges, had to stop half way due to sports practice. Lost about 45 pounds fat and gained 12 pounds of muscle.
Building up your body builds your overall confidence which leads to other good things.
