The key, I thought at the time, was simple. Persistent-world games needed to chuck all the 20-sided dice in the trash and let me fend for myself. A timing or skill-based system seemed like it would be instantly more rewarding than what was currently out there. We occasionally have game developers run through here, and we'd occasionally ask them about it. Would it even be possible to make a massively multiplayer action game?
