I was thinking since Smed has been cool enough to drop by and answer questions that it might be good to start a topic where we can post questions for him or other SOE staff.

Smed or other SOE staff are under NO OBLIGATION to reply to this thread but if they do we can update the answers. Yes, No or one word answers are welcome but more detail is obviously better.

Here are a few questions that I've grabbed from the other topics.

1. Obviously there are a ton of us that want to know when the game is going to be released. But since we all know that release dates are always in a state of flux in the game industry. Perhaps a better question is when can we expect beta to start? or how far away is beta?
2. Will Auraxis be one planet again?
3. Are the battles going to be larger than the original Planetside or around the same?
4. What subscription model are you going to use?
5. Are there plans to change the hit detection and the combat system?
6. Can you elaborate on how Galaxies will play a more important role?
7. Are Sanctuary's still in the game? or some type of new staging area?
8. Are there plans for servers in different zones in NA and internationally?
9. Will there be empire specific game models?
10. Are there plans to combat hacking/cheating?
11. Will there be new features for command?
12. Will Platoon sizes be getting larger?
13. Will Planetside:Next be getting more back story?
14. Will there be a different marketing strategy this time?
15. Will there be a CGI trailer created for PS:N?
16. Recommended system requirements? (for people that want to upgrade).
17. Will there be any news at the SOE Fan Faire about Planetside:Next?
18. Will there be Any kind of AI (Bots) in the game? If so, what roles will they fufill?
19. Will the caves return? In case the caves are gone, will we have replacements for the AT vehicles? Empire specific Artillery for example?
20. Will the old continents make a return?
21. Will the old bases make a return?
22. Will there be new base designs?
23. How much change to structures if any will there be and will there be more of a variety of them?
24. Are all the original vehicles back?
25. Are there new vehicles?
26. Will we have the same guns again (Lasher, Jackhammer, MCG), or will the basic design be different for some of them?
27. Are there New Weapons?
28. Is a collectors Edition planned? If so, any ideas what cool stuff you may include? I would love a little plastic or steel Magrider.
