Trading!?

Ok, I pre-apologize if this was brought up here already, but this hadn't ever occured to me until recently. If you're with a friend, in a squad, platoon, etc., and Buddy A needs something, say ammo... is he shoes outta luck or will players be able to trade things like ammo, med kits, grenades, etc. without being at a terminal of any kind? Will items/weapons be droppable? Just something that came to mind while thinking about squad strategies, and so far I've found nothing explaining it.
