The Base

Yet another bullet bounced off of the Galaxy�s armor coating. The Terran Republic scouts had spotted them, and Anti-Air MAXes were being moved up to confront the approaching ship. One of the Soldiers got a target lock suddenly, and a Striker round was instantly trailing the Galaxy. The pilot tried some evasive maneuvers but the drop ship had terrible handling and the missile struck a gunner�s seat. He fell screaming out of the ship and they continued on to the Bio Lab at Cyssor.

Greyan didn�t care to think about the gunner, his screams, and the blood streaming down the side of the Galaxy. His face contorted with fear and anger at the unfeeling faces of his shipmates. He was shaken out of his thoughts as the pilot spoke into the megaphone. �Approaching The Cyssor Bio-Lab; Prepare your kinetic dampeners and ready your weapons� 5 Seconds later the hatch fell open and Greyan was suddenly falling. He raised his eyes enough to see the drop ship go down in flames from another Striker Missile. Greyan heard the dampeners engage and dust was swirling all around him. Then they struck the ground and started towards their positions. This base had not been re-supplied with nanites and there were no Republic soldiers to hinder us.

Greyan took his position at the southeastern wall and raised the Bolt Driver to his eye. He took a quick scan of the trees and brush surrounding the immediate base. No bogies. Greyan scoped in to 12x magnification and spotted a Terran patrol responding to the attack. The Soldiers who had been sent out to stop the drop ship were also converging on the base. Greyan heard a voice in his ear, � This is the Commander speaking, we have hacked the base men�. Instantly troops were streaming out of the spawn tubes, ready for combat.

Scans showed 2 groups heading for the base, both the patrol and the strike force sent to stop the Galaxy drop. They would arrive in 15 minutes infiltration scouts stated.

Combat engineers rushed to the entrance, setting boomers to remove enemy armor, and mines to take out the infantry. The squads were grouped with medics and basic engineers to keep troops alive longest without the respawn delay. Snipers were deployed in cover where they would be able to take advantage of the rushed Terran attack and cause massive damage among the infantry.
