Thumbs up

I think when people first join the game alot of folks will take off on various vehicles alone to practice, or just get a feel for thier favorite but tend to stay within thier bases sphere of influence.

As the game moves on and outfits form I think we will see a couple of different scenarios as far as cehicles are concerned.

1. That there will be specialist outfits, as in, a pure reaver or quito patrol. Perhaps a heavy artillary division consisting of primarily engineers and MAX's, etc. Of which Im sure some will become quite famous in the PS community. The ability for a leader to call in a reaver squad or a platoon of heavy tanks to save the day will make for some serious cred.

2. Any type of expeditionary force will have to have a rounded out transport system to be able to get anywhere in one piece.
An AMS, heavy and light tanks, a couple of harrassers (or equivelent) and forward reconnaissance vehicles both in the air and on the ground. A good leader will need all of these assets to be able to get his squad from point A to point B. The same goes for NTU transporting, there must be an escort that possesses various air and ground capabilities.

Those who take off on thier own, from what I've read, are pretty much dead meat unless they can call for help. But who will help them? I'm sure there will be a few folks who will just spawn grab a vehicle, run off and die. Then do it over and over again until they start saying the game sucks etc. and eventually go away some people will buy this game without ever reading any of the boards or even the manual before they plop down a 6 month subscription. The game is so large these folks are very easy to ignore, and as the previous posts state, your reputation on whether or not you are dependable is very important. We all need to rely on each other to be effective.

I do see MANY galaxies taking off from the dropship centers completely empty, however, only because they are on thier way to rejoin with thier outfit stranded somewhere out in the desert, or mountains or wherever. Im sure if you can get the tell out quick enough you'll be able to hitch a ride, though its all over the boards that you are recommended to get at least one cert in vehicles so youre not hoofing it all over the place. The BF1942 phenomenon drives me CRAZY, it really ruins what could be a phenomenal game if people just figured out how to work together. The PS dev team is totally aware of this problem and has taken great pains to solve the problems of griefers. Will people fly friendly galaxies into an advancing column? sure. They will subsequently be blacklisted and isolated as they switch empires and eventually leave the game, frustrated that they can't piss off anyone else, or even better thier account will be permanently banned. A tremendous statement on behalf of the PS devs. They know that if the game plays out like 1942 people wont pay for the frustration. Besides you can get your own vehicle of your own choosing at any time, at any appropriate terminal and set permissions on it as to whether who can get in it or access the trunk space, more or less. Oooh, I just wrote alot. Sorry for the long winded speach guys- just trying to sooth this mans fears

See you on the Brit server!
