If the awesome alpha footage we've seen so far is any indication, I could hypothetically see the beta beginning within 4-6 months. A little more time for the other continents to be designed, MAXes and female models to be added, and swap out the placeholder graphics and sound effects from the previous gameplay, and they'll be ready for testers to start bug-hunting.

I think 9 months to release sounds too optimistic, but it's always possible. Personally, I'm hopeful for a Q2 2013 release date.
