Planetside 2 account confusion

This has already been raised but those threads have now been closed and I couldn't find an answer.

I've registered my PC Gamer beta key on my account so what what does this mean?

Another guy on here showed a screenshot of his account which was Inactive but his showed that he had Unlimited Planetside 2 Membership.

Can anyone answer this?
