Premium accounts?

Have any of the devs said anything about the possibility of paying for some sort of premium account in the game? A one-time fee or some sort of subscription, for benefits like XP-boosts and access to certain cosmetic options or something?

Would this be a good idea or a bad one?

I'm not advocating either way, I just wondered if it's something that might happen.
