My Idea, in it's most basic form, is:
Add a long-term (relatively) goal to gameplay besides the perpetual capture and loss of bases. Say every week or month you talley up the most kills by faction or most bases capped or defended. Basically the end match scores from Modern warfare or battlefield. This gives the player an over-arching goal besides the next weapon/veh/implant/battlerank/upgrade unlock. This was as basic as I could make it but the possibilities are endless. Similar system has already been succesfully been implented in other "games" -Campaigns and Operations in actual warfare -Seaons in professional sports -Other mmo's with realm-wide goals. In ps2 terms it could be as easy as: -Recording the most kills/base caps/vehicles destroyed/revived persons or as complicated as - disabling all aircraft for the period of the "season, campaign, operation, week" and discounting the price on armor for said time period. Thoughts. |
