Questions regarding us/eu ps2 servers. :)

I just want to ask some questions to you guys:

1. Is there any "ping/latency" drawback if you live in EU and play on US server?
2. What servers do the DEVS usually play on? (us servers? And if so one witch server are they most on?)
4. If so ... Why?
5. What is the main (us server) (like West-01 was the "Main/Biggest" one)
